Expect a waiting line, but it's worth the wait!
This is at the King's Oak Hotel, in Epping Forest.
The team is great & the food, clearly fantastic! Ask for Paul!- Service

If you love seafood this is a definite place to visit, the food is fresh, the staff friendly.
Curried mango prawns, juicy and full of flavour. The hot platter for 4 people (I could have had one on my own as they were tasty) mixed platter, which consisted of various prawns and had cod bites and breaded crab claws as sides all of which came with a dip.
They serve complimentary bread next to the table sauces.
The soft drinks we had to get from the parks cafe which is right next door along with a large portion of chips.- Food

Everything was cooked to perfection. The batter was nice and crispy, and the standout for me was definitely the curried mango prawns! Absolutely packed with flavour.
I also liked that you could grab a beer from the neighbouring pub to enjoy with your food. There’s cheap parking on-site too, which made things super convenient. Seating was limited but on a warm day, there is a green opposite that would be perfect.
The staff were very friendly, and the woman who served us was especially warm and welcoming. Great service all around.
Would definitely recommend and will be back again to try something else on the menu.- Service

Stopped off for lunch whilst out walking. This a wonderful seafood shack with a huge choice of super fresh seafood, served both hot and cold. You name it they've got it. Friendly helpful staff who really know what they are doing. Only had a seafood cocktail and fish gujons this visit as only wanted a light snack. We will most definitely return for the large seafood platter which looked amazing. Plenty of seating too.
A hidden gem! Great food, the staff are so down to earth and helpful! I'd never been there before, but after sharing my name for my order, and was called by name from then on by some of the staff I felt like a regular! That is a very unique and special trait. I will become a regular now. The menu is extensive, and I want to try it all!

The food is amazing and reasonably priced. They are super kind and efficient. The only (logical) problem is that so many people love it and the queues are huge. But totally worth it!!

Came here on Saturday during school Easter break and it was phenomenally busy. Waited patiently in the queue for 1.5 hrs just to order and another 25mins for the food, which by the way, arrives at different times and you need to wait for your name to be called. Makes for part of the experience. Mood in the queue was jovial and everyone was happy. Many had drinks purchased from the pub next door to ease the wait. There is some limited seating but not enough for busy times but the food was excellent. The oysters were sweet and fresh and a good starter whilst waiting for the cooked items. The scallops were cooked perfectly but I really liked the cod cheeks cooked in lemon butter. Highly recommend and will come back again to try the other items on the menu but maybe not on a weekend 😊- Service

Just had a great lunch with my friend, super fresh seafood and fish, we had delicious Irish Oysters, very large crevettes, salt and pepper squid, scampi, dressed crab and the star of the show a lovely Lobster tail perfectly grilled smothered in garlic butter beautifully sweet and tender, the Giant Tiger Prawns were absolutely sensational cooked to perfection!!! Great team of people who couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Buy your Guinness in the pub attached to it. Outstanding gaff. Lovely fellas running it, serving some of the best seafood I've had, especially not by the sea! Everything is fresh, cooked to order and delicious. High quality food clearly served with passion. We walked straight in with no queue on a Friday late afternoon, perfect spot with the pub next door and lovely walks around the Forest. Will be back, don't miss out

We (2) enjoyed a seafood platter, mango prawns, crispy cuttlefish, and a bacon and prawn sandwich shared between us.
Food is prepared fresh, and takes 15mins or so. We went on a Thursday so there were no queues. I can imagine it's packed on weekends.
The walk through the charming Epping forest made the meal even more rewarding. It isn't very obvious the location as it is adjacent to the pub, which works well for drinks.

Friggin amazing seafood tapas at a very good price point. There will probably be a wait if you come at lunch time in the weekend but you can buy beers from the pub and drink in the queue.
